Building the Capacity of the Next-Generation Philippine Occupational Therapy Academic Workforce: Insights from an Occupational Profile Study

Background. Occupational therapy (OT) academic educators are vital in building the workforce and advancing profession. With retirement of senior faculty, hiring new OT faculty members have increased. There also been changes national global policy guidelines education. These brought forth a compelling need to examine profile Filipino educators. To this date, there has no formal analysis Philippine education workforce. A study aiming at understanding is important inform educators, administrators, policymakers on development strategic approaches that may address their needs help build capacity workforce. Objectives. We aimed establish an occupational Philippines recommend capacity-building strategies for next-generation educators. Methods. cross-sectional survey was conducted using Adaptation Process Academia Questionnaire. were recruited through institutional affiliations. Results. Ninety (53%) estimated 170 participated study, representing 16 schools with programs country. The median age 26 years, majority female, single. shows bachelor’s as highest educational degree, work part-time, hold instructor rank, nontenured, academia 5+ years.
